Reinforced PVC liners are suitable for large ponds or ponds with particular shapes.

They are built with an internal reinforcement and a special rubber mixture which makes them non-toxic, flexible, resistant to frost and to all atmospheric agents including UV rays.

They offer safety for ponds of any size, guaranteed with a depth of up to 3 meters.

For a more natural and realistic pond, we recommend choosing brown or green, and blue for bathing projects.

Available n. 5 sizes.

15 year guarantee.

  • Project Preparation

First of all, make sure that no pipes, boxes or cellars pass through the site chosen for the excavation.

It's always good to buy a larger sheet than the project: particular shapes are often made, and it's always better to have a few centimeters available in case the calculations are wrong.

Remember to create 2 steps inside the pond to be able to place the aquatic plants:

one for marsh plants with a depth of about 20 cm and one for water lilies with a depth that varies between 40 and 80 cm.

The excavation must be leveled with a thin layer of sand or fine earth.

It is important to create a biological balance of algae and microorganisms to allow plants and fish to enter an environment favorable to their presence, therefore, in addition to inserting a recirculation pump complete with filter, we suggest a product to eliminate traces of chlorine harmful to fish life, and un prodotto  to establish a good bacterial colony.

The pump will have to remain active for a week in order to oxygenate the water and allow the birth of a fauna of decomposition in the filter mesh.

After about a week it will be possible to insert the plants and  the fish.

  • Ideal season

The best time to build a new pond is the end of winter as the earth is easier to work with, and the plants come out of winter rest thus having enough strength to take root and develop better in the new pond.

Of course, you can also build the pond during the summer or autumn, at least as long as the days are still warm enough

  • Size of the pond

To maintain the biological balance easily and over time, it is important that the pond has a surface area of at least 10 m2. (this corresponds to an area of 3.2m x 3.2m). At least 2 square meters must be at a depth of half a meter or 40 cm and this for two good reasons:

It is important to create a depth of at least 40 cm to guarantee shelter for the fish during the summer period from the heat, and during the winter period from frost.

  • Position

We recommend placing the pond in an area exposed to the sun's rays, even if only for a few hours a day.

Trees are to be avoided, whose leaves or needles, if they fall, would pollute the water and risk poisoning the fish.

Furthermore, the needles are very difficult to remove from the bottom of the pond and the roots could be irreparably damaged during the excavation.

  • How to hang the towel

As already mentioned, it is advisable to take advantage of a hot and sunny day to build your own pond to facilitate working the land and spreading the sheet.

To facilitate this, seek the cooperation of at least one other person.

Extend the sheet, take it by the edges and center it over the excavation, making sure that once it is laid down, it is not missing somewhere or positioned badly.

Start filling the pond with water making it adhere well to the walls of the excavation, fixing and masking the edge well with stones or blocks of tuff.

Don't worry about the wrinkles: they reduce significantly with the weight of the water and will no longer be noticeable once the pond is finished.

Attention! The fabric must not be under tension, or in the long run it could yield and get damaged!

Obviously, after drafting, you won't have to walk on the sheet, except barefoot or wearing soft sneakers.

In the seabed it is possible to insert medium-large gravel; loose soil or garden earth is absolutely forbidden, as they would pollute the water and make it cloudy.
